Lincoln Moorlands Railway Reserves hosted Boston Town Reserves in the Lincolnshire League Supplementary Cup Semi-Final.
With their backs to the wall and against the wind, they defended much of the first half on the edge of their penalty area and it took a defensive error to hand Boston the lead in the 41st minute.
Unfortunately, and despite upping their game in the second period, they were unable to equalise and crashed out of the Cup with much disappointment.
They now play current league champions Skegness Town away on 7th March 2009 before travelling the short distance to Rustons Sports on Saturday 14th March 2009 for the Semi-Final of the Lincolnshire League Challenge Cup.
A poor season could still achieve some silverware; but, they will have to lift their game considerably in this local derby if they are to progress to the next round and face either Hykeham Town or Sleaford Town in the Final at Ashby Avenue on 30 April 2009.
